Metallica divulga novo vídeo de álbum ao vivo com orquestra

O Metallica divulgou nesta quinta-feira (20) a performance de "For Whom The Bell Tolls" do álbum "Metallica And San Francisco Symphony: S&M²". Com lançamento no dia 28 de agosto, Metallica e a Orquestra Sinfônica de San Francisco se reuniram pela primeira vez desde o icônico álbum de 1999. Nessa "continuação espiritual", foram gravados os shows dos dias 6 e 8 de setembro de 2019.

Os dois shows tiveram ingressos esgotados, e receberam 40 mil fãs de quase 70 países. "S&M²" já está em pré-venda no site oficial, em várias versões: download digital, CD duplo, vinil quádruplo, DVD e Blu-ray. O vinil também terá edição limitada CD duplo + Blu-Ray + Deluxe Box, com partitura, palhetas de guitarra, poster e mais. "S&M²" terá ainda a Super Deluxe Box, limitada a 500 cópias, com as partituras usadas pela orquestra nos shows, autografadas pelo Metallica.

"S&M²" é produzido por Greg Fidelman, James Hetfield e Lars Ulrich. Joe Hutching, que trabalhou com a banda em "Through the Never", editou os shows com três horas de duração, os quais foram divididos em duas partes. Um dos destaques é "Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)", tocada como solo pelo baixista da orquestra Scott Pingel, em tributo ao baixista Cliff Burton.

A Orquestra Sinfônica de San Francisco, por sua vez, veio sob comando do lendário diretor Michael Tilson Thomas, e do condutor Edwin Outwater. 

"O solo de baixo de 'Anesthesia' foi incrível. A forma como os fãs reagiram foi arrepiante", disse Lars Ulrich a revista Rerrang!. "Adorei a ousadia de tocar 'Iron Foundry'. Adorei revisitar músicas que não tocamos com tanta frequência, como 'The Outlaw Torn' e 'The Call Of Ktulu'".

"Eu amei como Edwin trouxe um tipo de dinâmica quando ele estava conduzindo as coisas mais rock, e como Michael Tilson Thomas - o maestro - trouxe algumas partes diferentes, e encorajou os fãs a entender onde a sinfônica e os mundos do rock se sobrepõem.
