Solta o Play: Genesis - Domino

Depois de uma curva sem compromisso fora do tema de abril, encerramos o mês e mais um especial do Solta o Play. Em homenagem a Vingadores: Ultimato fizemos o mês das "grandes músicas", que começou com a cinematográfica Let the Storm Descend Upon You do Avantasia, o metal filosófico de Art of Life do X Japan, e Larger Than Life do Sonata Arctica, uma das músicas que salvou a minha vida. Hoje? Encerramos com um pouco de rock clássico meio prog, meio pop e de outra banda que também mudou a minha vida.

Se eu gosto tanto de música, a coisa começou por causa do Genesis. Essa parte da história eu contei lá no Play de Abacab, vale a pena conferir. A parte de hoje é melhor ainda: vamos abrir a semana ao som de Domino, do álbum Invisible Touch. E por que eu conheço ele? Por um motivo interessante. Quase Filosófico Existencial™.

Minha mãe gostava do Genesis, então ela ganhou do meu pai (quando eles ainda eram namorados) o vinil do Invisible Touch. Ela guardou o bolachão, e quando eu tinha uns 13 anos (?), ela me deu ele de presente. Eu já gostava de pop rock anos 80, como ainda gosto. E achei fantástico ela manter essa memória. Então comecei a ouvir bastante o vinil no antigo rádio que nós tínhamos.

Nessa época MP3 player era um sonho, rádio de pilha era luxo. Minha maior alegria era um desses rádios de "carregar no ombro", que eu dormia ouvindo. Detalhe: com uma cadeira encostada na cama e ele em cima. A outra alegria era o vinil. O Invisible Touch oficializou a mudança do Genesis para o rock clássico/pop, mas ainda com uns elementos progs, como em Domino.

Mas calma: as razões filosóficas existenciais vão além. O Genesis e a única banda que me passa uma paz de espírito enorme. Se eu estiver mal e ouvir qualquer música deles, logo é como se a vida ficasse mais simples. Genesis é fod*, o resto é moda. Phil Collins é Mestre Certificado™ e uma inspiração de vida minha não por acaso.

Então vamos ao som de tudo: Domino na versão original, e em dois lives que eu adoro. Um é da tour Invisible Touch no estádio de Wembley, que eu tenho o DVD - presente de aniversário há alguns anos atrás. O outro é da tour When In Rome, a última (ou uma das) do Genesis com o Trio Maravilha™.
